Lassen County Board of Education Passes Resolution for Right to Choose Against COVID-19

The Lassen County Board of Education stands up for student and staff right-to-choose in a 5-2 vote. The resolution passed asks state officials to not require COVID-19 vaccinations for students and staff. It says the “Lassen County Office of Education supports local control and decision-making. Also saying that the school system has operated safely since it’s reopening in august of 2020 with limited vaccine access for children and without a mandate. The resolution passed with parents concerns in mind pointing to parent’s lack of parental and personal choice as well as the lack of research on the long term impacts on children who receive the vaccine. This resolution will be shared with the offices of California Assembly member Dahle, California State Senator Dahle, Governor Newsom, the Lassen County Department of Public Health and the California Department of Public Health.

Trustees John Bertotti, Twyla Braninburg, Wanda Bushong, Rob Erickson and Patricia Hagata voted yes and Bruce Davie and Dan Owens voted no.
