The Lassen County Office of Education (LCOE) proudly supported the Lassen County 4-H Camp, which took place from April 13–15, welcoming youth aged 5–18 for a Spring Break filled with learning, leadership, and inspiration. This year’s camp theme, “Inspire Tomorrow,” created an enriching atmosphere for participants.
LCOE staff facilitated two interactive workshops focused on leadership and communication. The day began with “Word on the Street” style interviews featuring local leaders, who shared their leadership experiences and offered advice for aspiring change-makers through video presentations. Following this, students engaged in leadership breakout sessions that emphasized effective communication and teamwork—essential skills for future leaders.
In the afternoon, LCOE hosted additional hands-on breakout activities and introduced keynote speaker Casey Lee. A military veteran and current baseball coach for the U.S. Military WarDogs, Lee discussed how discovering his passion influenced his leadership journey. He emphasized the values and lessons learned from his military service and their ongoing impact on his coaching and educational pursuits.
Kaitlyn Midgley, Communications Specialist for LCOE, expressed enthusiasm about the event, stating, “We were thrilled to be part of such an uplifting and well-organized event. It’s a privilege to help support and guide the next generation of leaders here in Lassen County.”
LCOE extends its gratitude to Lassen County 4-H for the opportunity to participate in this remarkable weekend and looks forward to continuing to inspire, support, and empower youth throughout the county. For more information about LCOE events and programs, visit www.lcoe.org.
