Tragedy struck late Saturday evening when a side-by-side truck collided, killing one.
On September 15th, around 10 pm, a 58-year-old Janesville man, whose identity has yet to be released by the Lassen County Sheriff Coroner’s office, was driving a Polaris RZR on Lakecrest Rd. at the intersection with county road A3. A reno man was driving a Dodge Ram pickup on A3 approaching Lakcrest where the vehicles collided in the intersection, causing the Polaris to overturn. The Janesville man and his passenger were ejected as a result of the collision.
The Janesville man succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the incident, his passenger suffered major injuries and was taken to Renown Medical Center in Reno for treatment. The man driving the Dodge was not injured.
The Susanville CHP office says alcohol may be a contributing factor to the crash, yet the incident remains under investigation.
