Jackson Fire in Plumas County

Jackson Fire is fully contained and controlled.
Early this morning firefighters responded to the Jackson Fire on the Beckwourth Ranger District located near Jackson Creek and Mount Jackson east of the community of Cromberg.
The fire was contained at approximately 1 acre at 7:30 a.m. Cause is under investigation.
Smoke from the fire will likely be visible in the area today as firefighters work on mop-up and full control.
Firefighters are accessing the fire off California State Highway 70/89 near Mount Tomba and Jackson Creek Roads. This is near the road construction area. Drivers are asked to watch for increased firefighting traffic in the area, especially entering and exiting the highway.
Area residents and visitors are asked to be careful with anything that can spark a wildfire, including operating equipment, securing tow chains and ensuring that spark arresters and equipment are in good working condition.
