On Tuesday afternoon, inmate Robert Wahlberg, 60, of Beckwourth, escaped custody outside the Plumas County Courthouse while being transported back to jail.
He fled toward Dame Shirley Plaza — but didn’t get far.
A Correctional Officer gave chase, and thanks to an off-duty Court Security Officer who happened to be nearby, Wahlberg was quickly and safely apprehended without incident.
He’s now facing additional charges for escape. Huge thanks to the off-duty officer for the quick thinking and fast action!
