Today water flows will be increased on the North Fork of the Feather River between Canyon Dam and Belden reservoir. PG&E is testing their new controls on the water gates at the dam. The flows will be increased and decreased multiple times throughout the testing period. If you plan to be in the area hiking or enjoying other outdoor activities near this 10mile stretch of the river you should use extreme caution. Flows around this time of year are usually around 40 to 50 cubic feet per second, yet during this testing PG&E will be increasing the water level by half a foot an hour until flows reach 800 cfs. The increased flows will occur throughout the week ending on Friday.
