There was a heavy presence of law enforcement as human remains were found East of Truckee.
According to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, a caller reported finding severely decomposed human remains in the area of Farad Rd and Interstate 80 Monday evening. Due to approaching nightfall, an investigation had to continue the next day.
The FBI Evidence Response Team, Anthropologist from the Chico State Human Identification Lab, the Nevada County Search and Rescue Evidence Team and detectives from the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes and Special Investigations Units began processing the scene on Tuesday.
The investigation is ongoing, and forensic experts will continue processing the scene.
