Honey Lake Valley Community Television (HLCTV) has announced upcoming channel changes from Reno, Nevada broadcasting stations, effective 5 a.m. on October 27. While a rescan of your TV channels may not be necessary, it is recommended if channels do not appear correctly after the change.
Additionally, viewers using the Black Mountain transmission site experienced a loss of audio on Channel 4 on October 16. This issue has been resolved, but a TV rescan is required to restore service.
For a current list of channels available from the Black Mountain and Shaffer Mountain transmission sites, visit www.hl-tv.net and check the “NEWS” tab for updates. If you experience any issues with your TV signals, first consult the NEWS section. If the problem persists, leave a message on HLCTV’s phone line; please be patient as it is an unmanned line and someone will return your call as soon as possible.
About Honey Lake Community Television: HLCTV is a not-for-profit organization contracted with Lassen County to provide translator services to County Service Area No. 1. Since about 1950, it has been receiving, translating, and rebroadcasting TV signals to Honey Lake Valley residents. Before cable and satellite TV, the translator system was the only way to receive television in the Valley.
Today, many residents support HLCTV to access over-the-air programming or to ensure TV service for those without cable or satellite. The service is funded by a $25 yearly fee per property parcel and a $10 yearly fee per apartment unit within County Service Area No. 1. Property owners are encouraged to check with the Lassen County Assessor’s Office to confirm they are paying this fee to maintain the service.
HLCTV is committed to providing quality digital television to Lassen County viewers and welcomes contributions of good, wholesome family programming. They believe quality television should be accessible to all, affordable, and available over the air.
