If you have been waiting on I-80 to re-open and planning travel Truckee CHP shares some warnings for your trip. Travel will be very slow moving so plan ahead for the extra travel time, have plenty of gas, and extra food and snacks. Services along 80 are also limited with the impact of the storms. Food and gas is limited. The CHP warns that if it is not necessary to travel across Donner pass to avoid the area. Both directions of the interstate re-opened late yesterday evening. There are strict R-2 chain controls over the summit.

The Reno national Weather service says snow showers are likely to continue through the week, with today and Friday being the most likely to see the most snowfall.
