Hobo Camp Day Use Closes for Winter and Portions of Bizz Johnson Trail Close for Repairs

The Bizz Johnson Trail will have partial closures for winter and construction. You will not be able to drive into the Hobo Camp Day Use Area starting Wednesday lasting through to the springtime opening day for fishing. You can still walk or bike to the Hobo Camp area from the historic railroad depot on Richmond Road and the Lassen Street and Miller Road trailheads.
BLM-managed sections of the trail west of the Devil’s Corral trestle about seven miles west of Susanville will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, while work is underway to fix the historic wooden culverts damaged in the Hog Fire last year. The closures will be in place until repairs are completed in January. Yet snow and winter weather may delay completion.
