If you are heading down highway 44 you will run into more roadwork. Caltrans began work to improve State Route 44 near Viola. The project will replace the roadway’s asphalt. You will see work starting about three miles east of Deer Flat Road to a half mile east of Bridge Creek Road. The project will also include shoulder work and restriping on the roadway. You can plan for up to 15-minute delays, Monday through Friday during daytime hours. Delays will continue through early October.
