CalFire says renewal of last year’s burn permits is experiencing delays due to high demand.
If you have an existing permit, it remains valid until April 30, 2024, but you can expect delays in being issued a new one.
The State Fire Marshal says new permit applications received since April 12 have been unaffected. Those awaiting permits before April 12 are encouraged to submit a Help Desk ticket by April 17 if they have not received one.
CalFire adds requests are being processed in the order they are received and acknowledges the inconvenience caused by the delays.
