On March 26, 2025, at Herlong High School staff were informed there was a gun on campus. The administration contacted law enforcement to respond to the high school as there was a report of a student in possession of a gun. Immediately, staff isolated the individuals involved in this situation and located the reported gun. Upon staff securing the gun in a safe location, it was determined the firearm was an airsoft gun. Upon arrival, Lassen County Sheriff’s Department conducted an investigation and confirmed the findings of an airsoft handgun and all students involved, if you need further assistance with this matter, please reach out to Mr. Derek Cooper or Lindsey Godman at 530-827-2101. We have counselors on site to assist with students at this time if needed.
