Greenville Landscaping Project is to break ground on State Route 89 this Monday.
Due to the Dixie Fire in 2021 sparked a fire in the Feather River Canyon, burning over 963,000 acres of forest, infrastructures, and communities, including the towns across the Butte, Plumas, Lassen, Shasta, and Tehama.
Greenville was destroyed by around 75%in homes and businesses, with only a few trees and vegetation left unburned. Caltrans District 2 Director Dave Moore stated, “ The Greenville Landscaping Project will bring more color and life to the streets of Greenville by replacing some of the trees and plants lost due to the fire.”
The project will be funded through Governor Newsoms Clean California Program, costing around 600,000, and is anticipated to be completed around the end of August with no need for traffic control.
