Feather River College Foundation and Plumas Arts proudly hosted the inaugural Gallery of the Woods on October 11 — a unique event celebrating the fusion of art and nature in Plumas County. Set along a 1.5-mile forest trail at UC Berkeley’s Forestry Camp in Meadow Valley, twenty-four local artisans showcased ephemeral mixed media installations, including textiles, woodwork, mosaics, sculpture, music, dance, and performance art.

Visitors experienced a living gallery where every step revealed creative expressions woven into the natural landscape. Highlights included meditative installations, a whimsical tea party in the woods, and even a legendary Bigfoot sighting. The event fostered moments of quiet reflection, joyful laughter, and community connection.

The day ended with a shared meal and gratitude for the volunteers, artists, and the Forestry Camp staff whose hospitality made the event possible. Organizers hope Gallery of the Woods will become an annual tradition, continuing to inspire creativity and celebrate the deep relationship between art and nature in Plumas County.
