Free Residential Electrical Wiring Class for Adults at Feather River Adult School Starting January 2026

Feather River Adult School announces a free residential electrical wiring class for adults running Jan. 20 to April 2, 2026. Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Quincy Junior-Senior High School.

This introductory course covers

  • Electrical safety
  • Basic electrical theory
  • National Electrical Code
  • Blueprint reading
  • Load calculations
  • Circuit design
  • Selection and installation fundamentals of conductors, cables, boxes, devices, lighting, and panelboards

The class emphasizes practical applications for residential and light industrial work in both new construction and remodeling.

Organizers point out that students can learn valuable skills to prepare for the workforce. The class also provides an opportunity to earn an Occupational Safety and Health Administration 10 certificate. Free Chromebooks are available during enrollment to complete the OSHA 10 training.

Priority registration is available for tradespeople and those exploring electrical work as a potential career path.
