Kids across Lassen and Plumas County can eat free lunch this summer. The Susanville School district is continuing to provide free lunches to children aged 1 to 18. You can pick up lunch and breakfast for the next day at McKinley elementary school on 4th street from 11:15 to 11:45 Monday through Friday. The free meal program will run through July 29th as long as there is participation. In Plumas, county kids can eat for free through the Plumas Unified School District’s summer meals program. Lunches can be picked up at the Chester High School Cafeteria, Taylorsville Kitchen, Quincy QES Pioneer Campus, and in Portola at the CRC Cafeteria from 11:30 to 12:30 Monday through Friday for all kids 18 and under. The Plumas meal program will run through August 5th. The Plumas Library has also partnered with the meal program to provide fun activities including free books and STEAM kits to take home during the month of August.
