A Feather River College staff member has been recognized by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors, along with four others among the 116 colleges throughout the state. Joan Jarrett was announced for receiving the 2023 Classified Employee of the Year Award. These professionals were nominated by their colleagues and endorsed by the local board of trustees. The winners were selected based on their commitment to the Vision for Success, the community college’s mission, and professional standards.
Joan Jarrett has dedicated 15 years of service to Feather River College. Throughout her tenure, she has played a crucial role in improving the college’s support for students, especially those at risk of falling off their educational plans. As the program coordinator of the Instructional Resource Center, Jarrett fosters an environment where students can thrive academically and personally. She also strongly advocates for professional development and strategies to enhance student success outcomes.
The other recipients of this prestigious award represent the College of the Canyons, College of the Desert, the Los Angeles Community College District, and Long Beach City College.
Each Classified Employee of the Year Award recipient will receive a cash prize of $750 and a commemorative plaque in recognition of their outstanding work.
