Jordan Lester was arrested in Quincy on Tuesday facing multiple charges, including workers’ compensation insurance fraud and theft. The arrest follows an extensive, multi-year investigation by the CHP’s Workers’ Compensation Fraud Investigations Unit, based in Sacramento.

Lester’s arrest was made without incident, and he was booked into the Plumas County Jail. The charges, issued by the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office, include making false statements to fraudulently obtain compensation, presenting false statements regarding insurance claims, concealing events affecting benefits, perjury, and making false statements to the DMV or CHP.

The investigation began after Lester filed a workers’ compensation claim on July 12, 2021. He was placed off work by his physician in January 2022. However, an anonymous tip prompted the CHP to investigate further. The investigation revealed that Lester engaged in activities inconsistent with the medical limitations given by his doctors while on injury leave.

Additionally, investigators uncovered that Lester committed perjury and misrepresented the purchase price of a vehicle in statements to the Department of Motor Vehicles.

It is understood that Lester did not work for the Quincy CHP office but the alleged crimes were committed while working at CHP headquarters in Sacramento.
