Lassen National Forest officials say you can expect to see smoke northwest of Susanville and in the Spaulding area over the next week.
Under favorable weather conditions, firefighters with the Lassen NF will continue their efforts in fuel reduction through the pile burn operations.

This week’s burns will primarily be conducted in the Eagle Lake ranger district on the Whaleback machine piles.
Earlier this week, the forest service burned 31 acres in Butte Meadows and 55 acres on the Mountain home, with additional piles at the old station compound at Creek Work Center and Manzanita Lake Station.
