Feather River Land Trust marked two special milestones in 2025: 25 years since its founding in 2000 and the renewal of its national accreditation for the next five years.

Accreditation verifies that FRLT has been operating at the highest conservation standards for the past 10 years, say organizers. Accreditation is provided by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission, the national accrediting body of the Land Trust Alliance. FRLT joins 477 accredited land trusts across the country, out of over 1,200 active land trusts. “We are proud to be part of this community,” said personnel.

As the organization steps into the new year, staff say they are inspired by what the community accomplished together in 2025. “As a small but mighty local land trust, FRLT has helped protect over 100,000 acres of land in one of the most biodiverse regions of California,” said organizers.

On its website, FRLT offers a look back at 2025 accomplishments and what they mean for the organization. “These accomplishments reflect years of hard work and dedication from staff, volunteers and community members who make the Feather River Land Trust a stable and effective organization,” say organizers. They also look ahead to conserving, caring for and connecting people with local lands in 2026.
