An 82-year-old man lost his life after his vehicle crashed into a tree in eastern Shasta County.
The crash happened on Highway 299, west of Hatchet Summit near Burney, around 2:30 p.m. Monday.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that David Hall, 82, from Fall River Mills, was driving a pickup truck east on Highway 299 when the vehicle veered off the road and collided with a tree.
Hall died at the scene, according to the CHP.
Authorities stated that weather conditions, alcohol, and drugs did not seem to play a role in the crash.
