Fair week in Lassen County makes Susanville City Council hold a special meeting today at noon. The council will meet today ahead of their regular Wednesday evening meeting to accommodate councilmember’s participation in fair events. The council is set to discuss contracting with an organization to inspect the city’s 5 water tanks as part of a regular maintenance check, adopting the interim urgency ordinance for water conservation to comply with the state mandated water restrictions, as well as address the local Sales tax increase, voted in during the primary elections, with the CA Department of Tax and Fee Administration for implementation, and approving public works to begin contractor bidding for emergency repair work on the city’s well #3 that failed last Wednesday forcing a 25% water reduction as this well provides nearly half of the city’s summer water consumption. The Council meeting starts at noon at City Hall.
