Plumas National Forest officials say you can expect smoke by late morning today near the Oro Quincy highway.
Firefighters on the Mount Hough Ranger District will treat nearly acres of machine piles at Bucks Lake. Burns are scheduled to continue through the remainder of the week.
If you are in the area, you are asked to use caution, watch for increased firefighter traffic, and yield or turn around if needed.
Smoke is expected to be visible but not have significant long-term impacts to neighboring Bucks Lake and Meadow Valley. Yet, you could see light smoke across nearby forest roads and the Oro-Quincy Highway.
Forest officials say firefighters will monitor and patrol all operations, watching for unfavorable weather changes.
