Drakesbad Guest Ranch has reopened for the 2025 season, welcoming guests back to its scenic location in Warner Valley.

The lodge, which features 19 traditional rustic lodge and bungalow units, had been closed since 2021 due to the Dixie Fire.

The reopening comes after extensive restoration efforts, which included updated décor, furniture, and bedding. Two new bungalows have been added to replace those destroyed by the wildfires.

Reservations for the 2025 season are available online, offering families significant savings with all meals included. Kids under 6 stay free, while children ages 7 to 14 can stay at a reduced rate of $180 per day.

The National Park Service and Snow Mountain LLC have worked together to restore the area for park visitors. However, due to ongoing recovery efforts, the swimming pool and horse program will not be available this season.

Pool construction is set to begin in 2026, with the horse corral and riding program expected to return that year as well.

Drakesbad Guest Ranch, located near Chester, is part of Lassen Volcanic National Park, one of the oldest national parks in the U.S.

The lodge, built in 1938, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It includes six rooms, a two-room Duplex with a Jack and Jill bathroom, three bungalows, and an Annex.
