FIRE INFORMATION UPDATE

Crews were able to take advantage of moderate fire behavior today to gain some ground on the Dotta Fire. They were assisted by a strong showing of air support from both helicopters and air tankers. More accurate mapping shows the fire currently at around 480 acres, with 5% containment. Fire spread in Horton Canyon was somewhat sheltered from the prevailing winds, which has also assisted in firefighting efforts. Firefighters will continue with structure preparation as a precautionary measure, although the fire is currently burning away from Dixie Valley.
