If you want to have a shot at running for Lassen County District 5 Supervisor or County Auditor but thought you missed the deadline, you’ll have one more opportunity to file. County Clerk recorder Julie Bustamante has extended the deadline for candidates to file for both seats. Both incumbents did not file to run for re-election by the Friday March 11th @ 5pm deadline. The new deadline is this Wednesday by 5pm to file. To run for District 5 you need to be living in the district during your 4 year term, and for Auditor you must be a register voter and have an accounting background. Plumas County electoral races have been finalized. The County will see a run for Sheriff between Dwight Cline and incumbent Todd Johns. District 5 supervisor between Incumbent Jeff Engle and Mimi Garner. District 3 Supervisor between Tom McGowan and Kelley Cote, and County Assessor between Cynthia Froggatt and Amy Hendrickson.
You must be registered to vote by May 23rd if you wish to vote in the June 7th Primary. The elections office will begin mailing ballots by May 9.
