Local area revitalization project co-op has donated 50,000 dollars to the City of Susanville for the city’s proposed compost project with additional hopes. LARP is interested in further partnering with the city to develop an ag market. David Teeter, LARP’s CFO, presented the oversized check to the city council at the December 7th meeting. LARP was one of several local producers to receive the USDA grant in the amount of 150 thousand dollars. LARP’s vision to further the development of the Sierra Rd. site with the ag market is to create “building block” jobs through sustainable agriculture. With the grant funding already awarded to LARP, the city’s investment and partnership with the co-op can be rewarded by driving economic development.
