City Planning Commission Talks EV Charging Stations

This week’s Susanville planning commission meeting will consider presenting an ordinance to the city council for electric vehicle charging stations.

Assembly Bill 970 has required all California cities and counties to provide an ordinance for an application process for charging stations. Yet, cities with smaller populations had an extended period to implement these additions to city code by an extra year.

By January, the city will need an ordinance to establish an expedited and streamlined permitting process for EV charging stations. A public hearing will be held this Tuesday during the meeting to begin adopting the required city code.

You can also attend the city planning meeting to hear a presentation on statistical data on the efforts of code enforcement for the first three quarters of the year.

The commission meets this Tuesday at 5:30 in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.
