Due to ongoing construction and infrastructure improvements, the City of Loyalton’s water system experienced an unexpected shutdown affecting areas not originally planned for service interruption.
At this time, it is unknown how long water service will be disrupted. Crews are working to restore service as quickly and safely as possible.
Once water service is restored, all residents are advised to boil water before use. Any water intended for human consumption, including drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making ice, or washing dishes should be brought to a rolling boil for at least three (3) minutes before use.
This precaution is necessary to ensure that the water is safe to consume. The advisory will remain in effect until further notice and laboratory testing confirms the water is safe.
