Susanville’s planning commission and code enforcement has been busy abating the unsightly homes and building throughout town, announcing one successful demolition of a home at 10 Santa Paula St.
As authorized by the City Council in May, the demo began on June 1, with city forces removing years of piled-up trash and debris. A total of 56 tons of demolition debris and 26 tons of junk and miscellaneous rubbish were removed, along with the removal of an abandoned vehicle, appliances, and tires.
The effort was made possible with the assistance and dedication of the Public Works department, the city streets supervisor, the building official, and the code enforcement officer.
More properties blighting the city are undergoing this abatement process, and continued efforts will become more visible as they are completed.
