In a strong statement addressing recent disturbing allegations, the Church of the Nazarene has vehemently denied any association with accused child molester Bradley Reger. The church clarifies that Reger has never held a position as a pastor or minister within their organization.

Expressing profound horror and deep sympathy for the victims, the church released a letter stating, “We are horrified by the actions of Bradley Reger and grieved by the harm experienced by his victims.” Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the church emphasizes its respect for the judicial process that must follow.

Moreover, the Church of the Nazarene acknowledges the challenges faced by survivors of sexual abuse, particularly among boys who may be less inclined to speak out. While false reports are rare, the church affirms its belief in the credibility of the allegations against Reger.

Taking immediate action, the church has prohibited Reger from engaging in any ministry or service within the Church of the Nazarene. It is crucial to note that Reger has never been credentialed as a pastor or minister by the Church of the Nazarene.
The church is fully cooperating with authorities, ensuring that all relevant information leading to Reger’s arrest and charges has been reported. Reger’s apprehension on July 6th was a collaborative effort involving the FBI and the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office.

In an effort to identify potential additional victims, the FBI has released a short form for individuals to provide any relevant information related to the ongoing investigation.

As the legal proceedings unfold, the Church of the Nazarene remains committed to supporting the victims and maintaining transparency. The church urges anyone with knowledge or information concerning the case to come forward and assist law enforcement in their investigation.
