Christmas on Main Street invites everyone to get ready to rekindle the timeless magic of Christmas as Loyalton presents its second annual celebration Saturday, Dec. 6. This community event kicks off at 10 a.m. and invites everyone — locals and visitors alike — to immerse themselves in the joy, goodwill and enchanting spirit that defines the charming small town, say organizers.
Brought to life by dedicated volunteers, Christmas on Main Street promises a day filled with seasonal cheer, festive fun, activities and community spirit. Attendees can explore over 15 stops along Main Street.
The Women’s Ministries 24th annual Christmas Craft Fair features more than 20 local artisans showcasing their handmade creations. The Christmas Market hosted by Sierra Valley Home Center and Lombardi Mercantile consumes half a city block with the Mini Makers Market, a gingerbread house contest, free family pictures with Santa and the best shopping around, promise organizers.
The evening wraps up with the annual tree lighting ceremony and light parade at 5 p.m. sponsored by Loyalton Rotary, Sierra Timberfest and the Loyalton Volunteer Fire Department. Families can ride on fire trucks to view the town’s festive decorations and visit with Santa.
The Evergreen Stage — hosted by Musica Sierra — will feature live performances throughout the day, while attendees can warm up at a cozy fire pit with s’more kits and a bowl of chili from the Loyalton Senior Center. Festivities include community caroling, Santa story time at the library and homemade food. Organizers remind everyone to keep an eye out for the Grinch adding a dash of mischief to the festivities.
