Chester Incident: Pursuit Leads to Pedestrian Hit-and-Run

On November 27, 2024, at approximately 2100 hours, a 25-year-old male from Chester, CA, was driving his 2015 Infiniti sedan northbound on 1st Avenue south of Fourth Street. He encountered a pedestrian making arm gestures. A loud verbal argument ensued, and a passenger, whose identity is unknown, exited the Infiniti and chased the pedestrian east on Fourth Street. Hearing the loud argument, Pat Graham walked from his residence to the middle of Fourth Street. As the pedestrian began fleeing from the passenger, the driver began to pursue in the black Infiniti. The driver moved from northbound 1st Ave to eastbound Fourth Street when he suddenly struck Pat Graham. The driver fled the scene along with the passenger, who remains unidentified. Graham was transported to the hospital by a concerned citizen. The driver of the Infiniti continued eastbound and failed to stop or notify law enforcement. The Infiniti and its driver were later located by CHP personnel at a residential address in Chester, CA. Alcohol impairment was determined to be a factor in this collision.
