*** GUILTY VERDICT***
CHANCE DEAN TOLEN, 30, of Westwood, was found guilty on January 16, 2026, by a Lassen County jury of possession of a controlled substance with a firearm (HS 11370.1), felon in possession of a firearm (PC 29800), unlawful ammunition possession (PC 30305), and misdemeanor controlled substance offenses.
In a bifurcated proceeding, Tolen admitted pursuant to California Rules of Court 4.421(b)(3) that he previously served a prison term which allows the sentencing court to consider the imposition of an upper term.
Sentencing is scheduled for February 11, 2026. Tolen could face up to 4 years, 8 months in state prison.
