Canby 3-Gaps AR Chip Project on State Route 299 in Modoc County has Begun

Work on the Canby 3-Gaps AR Chip Project on State Route 299 in Modoc County has begun.

The project will include dig out operations and the application of an asphalt rubber chip seal at the following locations:

  • In and around Canby, from approximately 2 miles west of the junction with State Route 139 to approximately 1 mile east of Centerville Road.
  • East of Canby, from approximately 1.5 miles east to 2.5 miles east of Centerville Road.
  • West of Alturas, from approximately 2 miles west of County Road 75 to approximately 0.5 miles east of Crowder Flat Road (County Road 73).

Dig-out work is currently planned to begin on Thursday, June 10 at the easternmost location, west of Alturas.

Motorists will encounter one-way traffic control with up to 15-minute delays, Monday through Friday during daytime hours.

The project is currently anticipated to be completed by mid-July.
