Recent update from CalTrans:
Two major projects are on Hwy 89, Almanor West Road Rehabilitation and Crescent Mills Pavement Preservation.
The Crescent Mills Pavement Preservation is done; however, the Almanor West Road Rehabilitation is going to another construction season. Activities on this project will not be completed until October of 2026, tentatively.
The bike path is not yet complete. Pending work includes installation of Pavement Interlayer Fabric and another top lift of asphalt pavement, parking lots and connecting bike path ramps with bollards, decorative benches, shoulder backing, permanent erosion control, and tree planting. Schedule for completion is still being worked out with contractor.
