Looking at your week ahead, you’ll want to participate in Caltrans’s upcoming open house for the large-scale project impacting your drive along Highway 139.

The project is expected to close the highway at varying times and fall under one-way traffic controls by the summer of 2025. The 17.3 million dollar project begins just north of Chestnut Street and goes about two and a half miles south of Horse Lake Road, and it is anticipated to take roughly four months to complete.

The purpose is to extend the life of the pavement, replace six curb ramps, upgrade the guardrail, upgrade concrete barriers, widen shoulders in select locations, and replace/upgrade signage, a traffic signal, and culverts.

Caltrans invites you to join the informational meeting from 4 – 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at the Lassen County Fairgrounds (195 Russell Ave, Susanville, CA) to learn more about the project and ask questions.
