Lassen Community College and Caltrans are teaming up to discuss improvements to Highway 139, which also serves as Ash Street through Susanville.
The college will host the open house discussing improvements to service, safety, and accessibility.
Just last year, a long-standing crossing guard for McKinley Elementary brought to the city council’s attention the dangers to students from drivers ignoring the 30mph speed limit on 139 through town, saying more needs to be done.
You can head to Middleton Hall on May 2 from 4:30-6:30 PM to share your ideas and help Caltrans identify the community’s needs. Caltrans will consider the addition of sidewalks, bike lanes, and highway crossings from Main Street to the LCC intersection.
Your ideas and input will be essential in addressing those needs. With information from the community, federal, state, and local resources will be used to transform local transportation over the next 20 years.
