Byers Fire Update

CAL FIRE personnel, along with Lassen National Forest Dozer 5 and a Bureau of Land Management hot shot crew, are actively working to improve containment lines around the Byers Fire. The fire has burned approximately 106 acres and is currently at 20% containment. Multiple agencies are assisting, including the Janesville Fire District, Susan River Fire District, California Correctional Center Fire Department, Milford Volunteer Fire Department, and Lake Forest Fire Protection District.

As of the latest incident update at 10:35 PM, forward progress on the fire has been halted. The fire was initially reported to have burned around 60 acres, but the latest figures indicate it now encompasses approximately 106 acres. Fire crews will continue their efforts through the night and into the following day to manage and contain the blaze. This situation is categorized as a State Responsibility Area.
