The good news, is the company’s enhanced power safety settings are working, the bad is the outage left 1300 without power during the heat of the day from 4 pm to 6 pm. The bird hit the line along North Valley road. Through high fire-threat areas when an object impacts a line, part of the company’s wildfire mitigation plan for this year established the shut-off program where lines will automatically shut off within seconds if an object contacts them to prevent a spark that could lead to a wildfire. The program has seen an 80% success rate.
