Friday, December 12, 2025, CAL FIRE Lassen-Modoc Unit in coordination with Lassen County Water District (LCWD) will be conducting a 4-acre prescribed burn project at the Bieber Sewer ponds. The project area is in Northwestern Lassen County near the town of Bieber. Smoke will be visible from State Route 299E and throughout the Big Valley area. There is no need to report the fire to 911.
The project goal is to reduce fuel loading around the sewer ponds as part of general maintenance. The prescribed burn will be initiated if/when conditions are favorable. For additional information on preparing for and preventing wildfires visit www.ReadyForWildfire.org.
