A group of concerned people from Susanville came together to address the keeping of bees within the city limits. In a presentation to the city council the group addresses the benefits of having hives in backyards but found no guidance from the City in its municipal code. The group asked if one could be created or the current nuisance code to be amended. City administrator Dan Newton details what’s in the current city code **CLIP** Yet seemingly allowed, councilman Stafford brought up a concern Mayor Mendy Schuster closed the discussion with stating home can have hives in their backyards and that with the current code there will be less restrictions to homeowners yet an ordinance can be revisited come the following season.
