The final touches are complete, and a new park will come to life in the Almanor area. As the historic snowfall melted with the warming weather, the Almanor Recreation and Park District worked to bring this vision to reality.
The Almanor Park, adjacent to the Recreation building, is the fruition of a community outreach initiative launched in 2019 and was made possible through the funding of a Per Capita Grant.
Spanning nearly 3 acres, the park boasts various features including several sheltered picnic areas, outdoor all-weather game facilities such as Ping-Pong, Foosball, Chess, and Cornhole.
One of the park’s standout features is the community garden. With 10 raised plots and a dedicated shed. Moreover, the park thoughtfully includes a wellness garden tailored for the youngest members of the community, designed with climbing areas and benches.
A grand opening ceremony will welcome the community to the new Alamnor Park on August 19th at 11am.
