A Rapidly Growing Wildfire is Burning in Butte County

The Apache fire started last evening around 7 p.m. and has grown to over 600 acres. Calfire says that as of 9 a.m. today, it is 15% contained and approaching 700 acres in total. It is burning South of Oroville.

Two structures have been destroyed, and one injury; evacuation orders are in place for surrounding communities.

The latest status report indicates Crews will continue with direct line construction around the perimeter. The fire is also being attacked from the air, and more resources are coming.

No cause of the fire has yet been determined.
