Public Health Departments Issue Air Quality Health Advisories

SHARE NOW

The Public Health Departments of Lassen, Plumas, and Sierra counties have issued an air quality health advisory due to smoke from out-of-the-area fires. Lassen County’s advisory is in place for sensitive groups through Friday. In Plumas and Sierra, the advisory is ongoing as the mosquito fire continues to burn with minimal containment. The air quality index for Portola, Graeagle, and Blairsden remains in the red for unhealthy air for all. Seniors, children, and those with heart and lung disease should avoid outdoor activities during these levels. Public health urges you to limit strenuous outdoor activities even if you are a healthy adult.
