640 acres of land in Lassen County is under review to be rezoned into an agricultural preserve. The change will allow the land to enter under a new agricultural land conservation contract contract, the Williamson Act. The land lies nearly 8 miles southwest of Beiber, on hwy 299 and Muck Valley Road. Currently the land is zoned for upland conservation and resource management with an extensive agriculture land use designation. There will be a time for you to make comment on the change this coming Tuesday at the Lassen County Planning Commission meeting at 1:20 in the afternoon. The Planning Commission will forward their recommendations to the Lassen County Board of Supervisors.
