A second home fire in Quincy, Plumas National Forest firefighters and Quincy Volunteer Fire Department battled the blaze. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, and no injuries have been reported.

Flames broke out around 8 pm on Chandler Road. Tamara Schmidt with the Plumas National Forest said a direct spread from the burning building also sparked several spot fires in the forest but were quickly controlled by wildland fire crews and Firestorm Wildland Suppression contract crews.

Several other area firefighting units responded to help knock down the flames of the home structure, working alongside Quincy Fire. The home burned down to the ground.

The Plumas Sheriff’s Office says a fire investigator has been requested, and further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
