Lassen County Board of Supervisors held a meeting in Beiber this Tuesday and approved an increase in spending for the affordable housing project.
The board approved a budget of 74,900 dollars in December for a contract with Housing Tools, a consulting firm brought on by the county to facilitate site analysis. During the Board’s April 25th meeting, the supervisors approved updating the contract and increasing the total amount of the agreement to just over 90,000 dollars.
Administrative Office Richard Egan says this increase enables the contractor to update and refresh the site analysis previously conducted from years past. All funds for the project will not come out of the county’s general fund but will be dispersed through Housing and Grants funds.
Discussions between County Administrator Richard Egan and Susanville City Administrator Dan Newton over the latest proposed site off HWY 139 and Skyline are ongoing, with no firm designated location for the project to date.
