Hundreds of cyclists will take over the Bizz Johnson this weekend for the Lassen Gravel Adventure Ride, put on by the Susanville Area Bicycle Association, Lassen Lands and Trail Trust, and the Bizz Johnson Running Company.

Within Susanville and for those out enjoying the many dirt roads throughout the Lassen National Forest, you are asked to be mindful of the racers who will participate in the race along the Bizz Johnson Trail.

The longest ride of the course will traverse 94 miles, starting and ending at the Historic Railroad Depot on Richmond Rd, crossing through the hills behind Goat Mountain and Hog Flat and McCoy Reservoirs, making the return trip near Bogard back into Susanville traveling around Silver Lake and Swain Mountain.

Over 200 riders have registered for the event, which organizers are calling not just a race but an adventure ride, boasting the course’s unique 97% gravel route.

Top placers in the event will earn the title of King and Queen of the Mountain for each category.

Riders will descend on Susanville as early as this Friday and join the race on Saturday, September 9th.
